How We Tow a Motorcycle
Motorcycle towing is the transport of a bike on a flatbed truck with the front wheel locked in a chock and the frame held by soft straps. We never tow a bike on its own wheels behind a truck. We roll or winch the bike up the deck, set the front tire in the chock and pull the suspension down just enough to keep it steady.
Soft loops go around solid parts of the frame or triple clamp, not around levers, cables or painted parts.

When You Need Motorcycle Towing
- The bike will not start or the battery is dead
- You have a flat or a bent wheel
- The chain broke or the clutch failed
- You laid the bike down and it is not safe to ride
- You are taking a bike to a shop, dealer or new home
- You bought a bike that is not registered yet
Motorcycles We Tow
We tow cruisers like Harley-Davidson and Indian, sport bikes from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Ducati, adventure bikes from BMW and KTM, dirt bikes, scooters and trikes. Tell us if the bike has a fairing, side bags or a lowered stance.

Motorcycle Towing in Dallas
Riders fill Deep Ellum, Lower Greenville and Uptown on weekend nights, and many ride I-30 and US-75 to work. Summer heat is hard on bike batteries and clutches, and a stall in traffic on a 100 degree day is no fun. Potholes, debris and construction zones near downtown cause many flats and bent rims. If you go down, get to a safe spot first, then call us.
What to Expect
- Call (972) 362-1607 with your location and bike details.
- We bring a flatbed with a wheel chock and soft tie-downs.
- We load the bike upright and strap it at solid frame points.
- We deliver the bike to your shop, home or dealer.
Motorcycle Towing Cost
Cost depends on the distance, the size and weight of the bike, whether it rolls and any damage. Trikes and large touring bikes take more time to load. We quote before we roll. Texas towing rules come from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
How to Prepare Your Bike for a Tow
- Remove loose items from saddlebags and the seat.
- Turn the steering lock off if the key is available.
- Tell us if the bike has a flat or a bent wheel.
- Share where the bike is, such as a garage, lot or roadside.
What to Do After a Motorcycle Crash
Get off the road and check yourself for injuries. Call 911 if anyone is hurt. Take photos of the bike and the scene. Do not try to ride a bike with a bent fork, broken lever or leaking fuel. We will load it on a flatbed and take it to your shop or home.
Why Riders Choose Dawson
We never drag a bike on its wheels. Each bike rides upright in a wheel chock with soft straps at solid frame points. We take care with chrome, paint and fairings, and we can often take one rider along in the truck.
